Karina, do you have any perspectives on liver health and sea veg?

I love the darn stuff--season food with dulse flakes, snack on nori, sprinkle kelp (occasionally) instead of or in addition to sea salt.

I just never know how much is too much.

Great question—and I love that you're using sea veggies creatively in the kitchen! 🌿 Seaweed is incredibly nutrient-dense, offering minerals like iodine, magnesium, and iron, plus antioxidants that can support overall health, including the liver and thyroid.

That said, as with any food, balance is key. Some varieties—like kelp—are very high in iodine, which is essential for thyroid function but can become too much if consumed in large or frequent amounts, especially for those with autoimmune thyroid conditions.

Including small amounts of sea veggies like dulse or nori a few times a week can be a nourishing choice. Just be mindful of quantity and variety, and always tune into what feels best for your body. 💚

A great read, Karina! It is amazing how our bodies naturally go through cycles of detoxing like sweating in the sauna or during a hard workout. I have greatly enjoying going into the sauna a couple times a week after a workout and have felt great!

Thank you, Grace! Sauna has so many benefits, right? For some reason, it’s harder to find one where I live, but I’ve done it a few times and felt great after.

Very informative. Being a life science graduate I already knew the importance of liver. But I was not very much aware of the foods that can cause Liver detox. Thanks for sharing.

And Trust me when I say this.... You should refrain from ALCOHOL if you really care about your Liver. It is the biggest poison that one voluntarily puts in to damage their Liver.
